The count was 3-2 as it so often is with Aaron Judge. Top of the 9th and here comes the breaking pitch, darting out of the strike zone, and there goes Judge swinging and missing as he sets the mark for consecutive games with a strike out for a non-pitcher. On the other hand, earlier in the game he a ball so far that it reached the third deck, and it took awhile for everyone to wrap their head around what they’d just seen.
Oh, and the Yanks won—dancing around a competent performance by junk-ballin’ Jamie Garcia—5-3.
Is it too much to ask for a sweep? Perhaps. Baseball has a way of punishing you when you ask for such things. But it is not too much to ask Luis Severino to go out there, not mince around and put heads to bed.
Never mind the gluttony:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!

Gift lead off double
That was an absolutely terrible AB by Judge against a guy who wasn't throwing strikes. He swung at two balls.
Gary! RISP success and then some
Now that's better. SHERIFF!
My kind of inning
Ah yes, pitchers hitting. I hate it
Sheriff! He's just a beast on 'O'
I love pitchers hitting, way to go Sevvy. But base to base.
Or how about a salami
Brett!
Like this winning street but the Sawx keep on winning too (see that comeback against STL the other night?)
Ouch, that ball goes to the DL
Sheriff!
I approve of that inning
Well, it's nice to get home from work and tune in to find it 7-0 to the good!
Evening all!
[14] Yo cult! You still west coastin'? I visited L.A. for the first time, caught a game at Dodger Stadium, was glorious.
We need to find a better nickname for Severino than Sevvy.
He's far too good to have such a lazy nickname.
[15] OK!
Howdy!
Yeah, I'm still in SoCal ... down in the OC!
[17] Nice, we were staying next to Redondo Beach. Morning walks there then baseball at 4pm was awesome, but with no car..kind of stuck!
How long were you in LA for? And why?
Rbj - didn't you have an interview today? How'd it go?
To echo #13 ... I approve of that inning!
[19] About 10 days, kids in summer camps and wife doing some work stuff. I killed time on the beach eating Mexican food :)
Sevy cruising.
[20] nope, just set it up. August 29. In Cleveland. But it's only an hour. I'm used to academic ones which are a day and a half
Well, heck, if I'd known I'd have suggested meeting up for a game ... or tacos ... or something.
[24] ah ok. Good luck when it comes!
Thanks Seamus. I'm stir crazy without work
[25] Should be back next year again as the family loved it, so will get in touch via our mutual rhythmically inclined friend!
Oww, Gary, oww!
Sounds good! Are you strictly bound to a specific narrow timeframe? I ask because the Yankees are usually in town for the Angels in the June/July timeframe ...
Two hits for bird tonight. Would be interesting if he finds his stroke quickly.
Guess he ... misjudged that!
Sigh. Gary.
[30] Depends on work, but should know by Spring 2018 for sure. Would be great to see the Yanks in the Big A! Could have a Banter together if Hank Waddles is still there?
Might happen! We should tell Nostra to schedule a gig out here at the same time!
[35] As long as he doesn't bring those nasty IPAs along. Was an adventure finding good stouts in L.A.
Wow, Shreve is hitting
[36] No kidding. I oft despair of the current craft beer scene ... so many beers, so few interesting (to my palate) choices.
Ah, fellow IPA haters. It is too hoppy
[39] Horribly Hoppy.
[36] One nice beer joint with great food in Hermosa Beach, 3/4 menu was IPAs. Nice Lagers and Pilsners too though thankfully.
Sigh ... Judge seems due for a recall ...
Grrrrr ... Mitchell, don't fuck this up.
Hmm, not liking this
He's yanking EVERYTHING
Just. Fucking. Awful.
EVEN. FUCKING. WORSE.
Fuck
Wait, what? 7-5.. I missed something very very bad?
Well, at least Betances gets to come in with a clean slate ... so, uh ... thanks, Bryan!

We Win! Get out the brooms!
Phew, three down.
Sweep, sweep, sweep, sweep!

Thank you Dellin.
[54] Only if it's the amber.
Night all.
Next up, the hated Rivals
Oh and stupid non uniforms
G'nite all
[58] I like the funky uniforms and nicknames! Add some fun to MLB :)
