Ah, a good close win. Good at bats for Stanton, nice performance from Betances, dominant one from Chapman.
Still cold as hell out here and we are still looking for Sonny Gray to show up. Speaking of chilly, Holy Crud but the Red Sox are putting the rest of the division on ice. They are now 16-2 for crying out loud. Good start is one thing but this is just ridiculous.
Never mind the tailwinds:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!

Finally in the 50s here.
Yay, Austin!
Blue skies and high 40’s. Rejoice! 2 run YS special.
Blegh
Fuck off, blue!
Nice!
Woo hoo, Stanton
Oy
Sonny is not a fan of the shutdown inning.
Sigh. Congrats, kid
Weak fucking tea.
Yay, Miggy Jr.
German has no idea where his pitches are going.
Here comes the Grandyman.
Win one, lose one, what the fuck is going on in the Boogey Down?
Unfuckingbelievable.
Come on bats
ugh ... this sure isn't the start to 2018 I imagined.
Fuck off blue, outside
I’m really tired. Night all
The pitching and defense had been disappointing so far. But I’m Here.
Judge needs to start giving these umps grief. WTF!
[18] the Spring season of 2018 has had a similarly befuddling and disappointing start. I really don't want to be critical, so I won't say anything until summer, maybe.
Yankee For A Minute Trayce Thomspon (brother of GS Warrior Klay Thompson) hasn't swung a bat yet it seems and he's already on his fourth team of the season with Oakland trading him to the White Sox for a PTBNL. He's a hot potato he is.
Is anyone else disconcerted by the number of players who suddenly seem to require Tommy John surgery? It's not even just pitchers anymore. Am I wrong in thinking that this has been a rising trend for the last several years and it just seems like a default at this point? Or has baseball always been this dangerous and medical science is just recently catching up with the reality? It's a topic of discussion every season now, and it bothers me a lot; I'm just not one for seeing young players wear out so quickly no matter how much they get paid, not to mention how it affects the overall quality of play. Injuries suck, but constant injuries can really suck the life out of the game for me.
Nice leather, Didi
Brett too.
Judged fair!
Ugh. Bad decision there by Gritner and ever worse throw.
Or probably the reverse ...
Phew ....
Good job wriggling off that hook, Monty ...
I'll take that.
And that as well.
For an at bat that had me yelling at the screen on the first 2 strikes, that ended much better than I had any reason to expect ...
And I'll take that!
I want double digits.
Guess I'll have to settle for nine.
Nice catch, Hicks
Great game. Nice bounce back from last night.
Gleyber Torres era to start tomorrow
The Glyber Toores Era starts right now. He led the team onto the field and didn’t touch the white lines - his first true Jeterian move.
Didi!
GT also got with the NY habit of k's. It's uphill from here!
Nice, lettuce
Romine! nice to see the old guys coming through
Gah ... missed the kid's first at bat.
Guess I didn't miss much.
Yup. 3 swings and misses. 1 take. 1 foul ball.
Phew. Good wiggling.
PLEASE stop running into walls, Yankees outfielders!
Nice catch, Stanton
cult. didn't you tell them not to run into walls?
So ... Stanton runs into a wall in LF, Hicks in CF ... guess it's Judge's turn next in RF ...
Sigh.
There’s the shutout
Great outing by Sevy
Boo! Clearly safe
nice W on a sunny Sunday. looking forward to Nats Dodgers tonite
Phew!
