Man, the Yanks are on a roll. Swept the Halos in a very Yankee-friendly Angels ballpark over the weekend. Now they are in Houston for four big games against the Astros.
Nice to see Sonny Gray act more like Coney less like Jeff Weaver.
Never mind success going to your head:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!

For some reason, I woke up too early today (5:15), now I'm just guiltily waiting on the game.
(We are in the middle of Golden Week in Japan. This year it's 3 holidays with two working days sandwiched in between. But most people blow off the whole week.)
I want double digits - in wins
Who has Sonny putching well tonight? Not me.
Maybe he'll pitch better than my spelling.
Might be a quick night with this dude's stuff and a big strike zone.
[4] Not likely.
It seems like Sony's pitching seems to emulate his name. The promise of the first name is overshadowed by the disillusion evoked by the last.
[1] Am working today and tomorrow :(
How about working this pitcher a little?
[7] Damn, Jazz, that place is shirt factory.
Cone likes the box. Noooooooo! Say it ain't so!
Nice no hitter.
[10] I was just thinking that.
There's the Sony Gray we know and love.
Shit, just realized I've been calling him "Sony". Been in Japan too long.
This is the ballgame.
Ruh roh
So, sonny is still gray and the royales are fucking useless.
Wow. Nice.
Sony products are awesome and reliable. Sonny not so much.
Phew.
Just a bit outside
Goddammit! Video game strikes.
Getting no hit will make my shitty day shittier.
How about getting a fucking hit?!
Greetings folks.
Long time no see.
thelarmis... Que pasa? Getting gigs?
Morton is pitching really well. Very little to hit.
I hate Altuve
A hit! How fucking novel. Hallelujah
That’s good.
Same here rbj. Can’t understand how he’s good. He looked pretty bad in that at-bat. He is so filthy fucking rich it’s disgusting.
OYF! Hope all is well. I’m mainly teaching right now. College, middle school, and privately. Played a big festival gig the other weekend and had much fun.
Swung at ball 4...
[25] Old Timers Day. Woo-hoo!
Cone is so good. Flash is so....the opposite.
Game of fucking bullshit inches.
Sit the fuck down you racist piece of dogshit.
[33] Flash comes off as slightly pompous or a bit pedantic. He also seems like he would be boring as hell to hang with.
Yeah, Boat. All of that and completely underserving of a somewhat cool nickname.
One pitch at a time, said Larry.
Seemed worse, but 6 innings and 2 runs against this offense in this ballpark in under 100 pitches ain’t too terrible. I mean, I probably could’ve done a little better but I had plans...
I got to give Sonny credit. Save the balk and losing the zone for an inning and It’s 0 - 0.
No chance. Fuuuuuuck.
Oh great. It’s going to be a CGSO
[42] what are those?
I do not like that guy.
Bad base-running by Torres.
[30] I have been out of the scene for a decade or 2, but just ran into this guy, Dylan Elise, on UTube. Is he as good as I think he is?
I’ve heard of this pinch hitter. Do we now lose the DH? (Not that it’ll matter)
Are they booing Judge?
SO maybe, but no CG!
Yeah, OYF - Dylan Elise is pretty freaking great. I play my students his version of Mr. Hi-Hat. It’s quite impressive!
Would be sooo awesome if Gritner laces a liner into the right field seats
There goes the SO too!
Well, it’s exactly who we wanted at the plate...
And it’s Jonathan Holder yet *again* in a critical situation. Bottom 8, middle of the lineup, 1-run game. Um, ok...
Even if it works: jeesh.
[49] Seen/heard it. Fantastic. The guy is also very rhythmic. Great technique with a natural groove.
Maybe that’s why I didn’t get the managing gig.
OYF - yup. Seems like a good cat too. Most are from Oz.
Fuck texas.
Crap! Great pitching beats great hitting.
Sorry, guys. I dozed off. Yes, I guess the hitters lost this one.
Anyway, we got Monty tomorrow. Night all.
[59] Not for nothing, but considering you're sitting one of your hot hitters, moving another out of a spot he's been productive in and moving your new power hitter back into a spot he's struggled with most of the month, I'm surprised the stats didn't predict this outcome.
For the record, I'm not against analytics in general, but I believe they should be used as reference and not as prime directives. Still hoping that Boone is not a carbon copy of Girardi except with a happy face...
Well that's fucking stupid.
Whoop.
Wrong thread.
