The Snowstorm—A Love Story

A little personal news here. Most of you who know me might have seen this posted on one of my various social media accounts but thought it would be worth mentioning in this space as well. In the December issue of Men’s Health, I have an essay about how I help my wife, Emily, navigate chronic illness. Take a look—I’m proud of this one. Then dig these little DIY videos we made (Emily just started an Instagram account—Living Beyond Wellness—you should check out too):

and:

If you like the essay please pass along to anyone you think might get something out of it.

Much obliged and Happy Holidays to you all.

Dope, Alex. I love the meta opening where Em is talking about doing a promo while doing it. Very cool.

Also, good stuff to reflect on for any relationship, even without an illness to manage. I learned something.

Thanks for sharing. I am sending lots of good vibes to Em.

Thanks, Dude! You know, as I was messing around putting that little video together I just thought, what the hell, let me start with something that is more of an outtake, to give a more casual flavor.

And I appreciate that you found it meaningful regardless of illness. It really is more about relationships anyhow, and how we try to love each other despite our flaws and the crap that comes up.

Good vibes right back at you and yours!

You're a good dude, AB. I read that article a few weeks ago via your Twitter feed. You and Emily are fortunate to have one another. Cheers.

You two are lovely people inside and out. It is so generous of you both to share this experience to help others.

You two show humor, grace, love and compassion for each other and others.

I love you both!

Alex - So wonderfully written, meaningful, and generous. I have a cousin who's wife has the same damned disease, although her symptoms have faded after surgery. She's even running marathons again.

I send my best wishes to you both for the holidays, with the hope that the new year brings you health and happiness.

One more idea to this community: make a donation to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation: https://online.crohnscolitisfoundation.org. Happy holidays to all.
