You almost have to feel sorry for Arod! As much as he has created his own problems, the baseball establishment and the main stream media for the most part won't be satisfied, until he is drawn and quartered, and his head is on a spike outside of MLB's offices!
It amazes me that Ortiz, who tested positive in the same anonymous testing back in the day, just keeps getting a pass. Maybe Alex should have given everyone the big FU, back in the day, as Ortiz has to date.
Not just the mainstream media. As some scribe pointed out, assuming he gets into the HOF, what uniform does he where? Can you imagine the boo birds in Texas, assuming he played tonight?
I will never feel sorry for him. Pl;ease tell him I don't want to hear about his kid or his mother, either.
And, I would still like to know how damaged his hip is and how he got away with not telling anyone or the anyone not telling us. The PEDS must have kept him going. Why else take them.
As for Ortiz, hard to know the heart and mind of a Sox fan. They root for the home team. Its still Whitey's town, even though they have Harvard and MIT. I mean, I love the Kennedy's, but Honey Fitz and Joe were scoundrels. they booed himwhen he wasn't hitting. I don't think you can say FU when you are on the DL
This has to be the strangest year of my yankee-fandom.
As for A-rod. I'm a total sap, so I feel for the guy. Not sure why... I don't feel bad for other celebrity liar types. Maybe because he just seems so dumb and desperate rather than calculating. I don't know... it's probably all projection about failed heroes or something. Where's the Bantersite shrink?!
Maybe he can coach at UM. After all he rebuilt the stadium. He loves baseball but there is not much left in the tank. He needs a new baseball life.
If he retires there is no need for MLB to publish any PED info. He and the Yanks can collect their insurance and move on.
Never underestimate the effects of not having a father. It fucks up a lot of people, men especially. That's from a psych PhD.
With that said, these problems are wholly of ARod's creation and he needs to be held accountable. That goes for all problems except, of course, the ridiculous salary, which is the only one I really care about.

("Saigon, shit. I'm still only in Saigon.")

Alex is the arrested development case who keeps getting attention for all the wrong reasons, doesn't he?

[7] Insurance won't pay Arod if he retires. You can be sure insurance will fight tooth and nail not to pay even if he has a career ending injury.
The Yankees have the insurance. They get the money if ARod retires because of medical reasons. They give it to him.
