Alex Rodriguez was robbed of a 3-run home run in the first inning but he hit a line drive over the wall in center field a couple of innings later, just dropped the bat and extended his arms. Good enough for career home run 661. He got a nice cheer from the crowd, came out for an ovation, which died down almost immediately after he quickly returned to the dugout. No fanfare. Ah, if only all milestones were like this!

Next up for Rodriguez, who got another base hit later in the game, is 3,000 hits. He’s only 38 away.

The Yankees got a decent performance from Nathan Eovaldi and more stellar work from their bullpen. Good for a 4-3 win over the Orioles.

Great work by the bullpen 3 and a third and no runs.

(0)I was wondering if at the stadium they had on the big screen, "Alex Rodriguez just passed Willie Mays" Or is that marketing his achievment?

Alex was great in the postgame interview that I watched. He was very gracious towards Willie Mays and in a Freudian slip said, "Nobody can pass Willie Mays" and then talked about his impact on the game and character, but it started out a little weird. Costas did the broadcast with Kitty for MLB network and they mentioned PED about 3 seconds after the dinger which is something that will follow ARod around until hell freezes over. They also mentioned the HOF and his diminished chances and how it was a tragedy as he would have been a first ballot if not for the PED's. (Same shpeel everyday with ARod now)

Tex's bat was alive last night too.

I haven't checked, but is Beltran living in BABIP hell? Every game I see, he drills something to the warning track in center, where it always gets caught.

[3] Interesting. Yeah, it's .246, which is about .050 below MLB average.

[2] Yes. It stayed on screen 10 seconds per an article I read today.
