Destiny Rides Again

reda

Patch work night in Arlington. Feels like a game the Yanks should lose. It’ll say something about being on a streak they win tonight. Don’t know why I’ve got that feeling, just do.

Will say this, though. I liked the fire from Teixeira and Headley last night. This team has been too sloppy–on the bases, in the field–all year long. Hope they manage to correct that.

Jacoby Ellsbury CF
Brett Gardner LF
Alex Rodriguez DH
Mark Teixeira 1B
Chris Young RF
Chase Headley 3B
John Ryan Murphy C
Didi Gregorius SS
Brendan Ryan 2B

Cappy gets the start but it’ll take a group effort outta the pen.

Never mind the heat:

Let’s Go Yank-ees!

So the Fox team says about Alex:intriguing to incredible. Truth.

So is starting Chris Capuano at this point just a way of saying, "F--- it, we'll eat this game...we don't need to win"?

I think this qualifies as the least surprising start in the history of the universe.

At least when I went to the dentist, I got to read Highlights for Children.

Keep him in until Texas reaches triple digits.

Very prescient, Alex.

Shit, and I was enjoying this.
Hope Joe gave him a bus ticket when he left.

He'd damn well better take one for the team at this point. I hope this doesn't hurt Capuano's trade value

Oh the other hand . . .

Mercy rule?

14 rbj   ~  Jul 28, 2015 8:24 pm

Starting pitching? We don't need no stinking starting pitching.

15 MSM35   ~  Jul 28, 2015 8:26 pm

Phils ahead of Jays in the ninth but they just traded their closer!

16 Evil Empire   ~  Jul 28, 2015 8:27 pm

11 freaking runs!

17 MSM35   ~  Jul 28, 2015 8:40 pm

Phils win. Who needs a big time closer?

18 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Jul 28, 2015 8:41 pm

This is unbelievable.

19 rbj   ~  Jul 28, 2015 8:42 pm

There was a game when I was a kid the score of which, as I recall, was 26-7.

I want to say it was the Mets and Philly?

Anyone remember that?

21 mhoward120   ~  Jul 28, 2015 8:48 pm

In retrospect, Capuano apparently did a respectable job of keeping us in the game.

22 GaryfromChevyChase   ~  Jul 28, 2015 8:48 pm

Guess what. Turned off the game to watch movie with the wife (again ). Yanks down 4 zip. Just checked. I'm not gonna watch. Really.

[20] I remember a Cubs - someone game that was 22-21. Wind was blowing out of Wrigley that day. Late 1970s, as I was still in middle school.

24 mhoward120   ~  Jul 28, 2015 8:52 pm

You know what? This team IS pretty fucking good.

25 Dina   ~  Jul 28, 2015 8:57 pm

I hopped in my car to come home from a softball game and Sterling was saying the Yanks had given up 5 in the first inning. His next sentence was the Yankees are up 6-5 and have runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs. Holy crap what a ride home. "I'm running out of adjectives!"

30 rbj   ~  Jul 28, 2015 9:44 pm

It's baseball, Suzyn, you can't explain baseball.

31 rbj   ~  Jul 28, 2015 9:48 pm

I want 20!

32 rbj   ~  Jul 28, 2015 9:55 pm

I think the game is in hand, night all.

33 thelarmis   ~  Jul 28, 2015 10:11 pm

I want TWENTY!!! ; )

Just leaving work. Can't wait to watch the repeat later!

34 Evil Empire   ~  Jul 28, 2015 10:17 pm

Could the Yankees please release Capuano now? He's a 6.97 era guy.

35 thelarmis   ~  Jul 28, 2015 10:43 pm

We got TWENTY!!!

21, baby! Just getting home. Will watch soon...

36 Chyll Will   ~  Jul 28, 2015 11:13 pm

[35] A game where people are praying for a score truck and Optimus Prime shows up.

37 thelarmis   ~  Jul 28, 2015 11:59 pm
