Once again: What the hell do I know? I figured the Yanks might take one on the chin last night. Chris Capuano did his part, bless him, giving up five runs in the first inning. The rest of the team didn’t get the memo. They scored 11 runs in the top of the second, 21 in the game. It was a gorging. Meanwhile, game ball goes to Diego Moreno, who relieved Cappy, and pitched 5.1 scoreless innings.
When you’re going good, everyone eats steak, huh?
Bring on the brisket!
Feast on this box score.

Kinda reminded me of an old Carl Pavano game I watched at Yankee Stadium. Ole Carl gave up a boat load of runs, and the crowd was sitting on their hands generally grumpy as we mostly were during Pavano games, and then the Yankees came up to bat and - mayhem. Carl who? Exactly. Nothing like an old fashioned blowout to bump the run differential.
And Warren got a save, which is in the rule book.
Could we please DFA Capuano? Surely Kei Igawa is available.
Nah, them ribs look better to me...
Early nomination for Diego's nickname (if he stays on this path of righteousness): Brown Sugar
The only difference with Pavano is that he was counted on at one point to be better than he actually was, which is what really riled a lot of folks up besides the always being injured factor. Capuano, you know what to expect from him and he didn't really surprise anyone; less angst from lesser expectations.
[3] I heard he went to Australia and became a rapper. It would explain a lot.
Didi Gregorius makes Yankees fans euphorious! (sp?) That's another Sterlingism I heard last night for the first time. I blanked on remembering it in last night's thread. lol...
