2. The Yankees don't need a left fielder that can hit like an outfielder, or a 1st base/DH combo that can actually produce, no, no, what they really need is another meeting. A big one this time. That will do the trick.
4. It's really difficult to find anything to say. Unbelieveably disheartening. I can only hope it's some weirdo anomaly, but I don't honestly believe that.
Sox were left for dead last year, only to come back and beat the universe during August and September. The Yankees can do that. We've already practiced it once this year.
(more deep breaths)
We're only five games back, and the O's haven't hit a rough patch yet. They're not as bad as they have been, but they are beatable. Every team in the league is beatable. There's no "run away and hide" team around. No juggernaut. It's gonna be three tight races to the finish.
(breathing)
As awful as we can look, nobody in the AL East has left us in their dust. The Sox are only a couple games better than us in the standings. They are not as good as they looked at Yankee Stadium, nor are the Yankees as bad. It was a fluke.
(hyperventilating)
This is going to be a slug-em-out season right till the end. No way around it now. We climbed back to 2nd place just a week ago and had our sights set on the O's. This is just a minor setback. That climb was very steep, as we were at the bottom of the mountain. Now - not as bad.
(feeling faint)
Like when a salmon runs up a river, they sometimes have to take a break after rushing through a stretch of fast waster. That's all the Yankees are doing now. The Twins will rue the fact that we were swept in KC. Go on. Start rueing!
(head swooning)
The Yankees need less meetings, less press coverage, less hand ringing. Less pressure. Torre needs to go into the clubhouse and say "Guys - take a deep breath. We've got the talent. We know how to play this game. It's not life and death. Let's have a beer. On me." The players need to stop getting asked the same questions every day, after every game. The only way to do that is to start winning. Tonight guys, ok?
(darkness falls)
It appears like the wildcard won't be coming from the east, so we have to win the division. Gonna be a tough summer.
1. the royals?
The Royals?
The Fucking Royals?!?!
(no offense to Nickb and other Royals fans, but they stink this year.)
2. The Yankees don't need a left fielder that can hit like an outfielder, or a 1st base/DH combo that can actually produce, no, no, what they really need is another meeting. A big one this time. That will do the trick.
This season sucks.
3. No offense taken. Saying the Royals stink is like saying water is wet...It's an absolute.
The Royals are a lead pipe cinch to lose 100 games and might even push 120. These three games will be one of the few highlight of the season.
By the way, the Royals had gone 78 series without a sweep. Only 6 teams in history have had a worse streak.
4. It's really difficult to find anything to say. Unbelieveably disheartening. I can only hope it's some weirdo anomaly, but I don't honestly believe that.
5. I think the anomaly was the last few weeks of May.
