Awesome cover, Al. Maybe it speaks to you cuz it's set up like a pitcher/hitter confrontation?
The Surfer's big screeen debut in FF2 was terrible. I wonder if Thor is destined for the same. My little brother pointed out that setting a Thor movie entirely in Asgard would be pretty cool. But having him come to earth and whip that hammer around, I just don't see it being any good.
Both the Silver Surfer and those mod giant polka dots on Thor's tunic are so very 60s. The Marvel Comics of the 60s and 70s are pretty much where my interest in comics begins and ends.
[3] I thought the Surfer was pretty cool in that movie. I mean the movie stunk, but The Silver Surfer worked for me.
I think having Thor just in Asgard would be kind of redundant if it's an adaptation of the Marvel iteration. I want to see the God of Thunder drinking a milkshake in a diner, that's what this should bring to the table.
However I imagine they'll go with the "Ultimates" take, where he is initially seen a charlatan (I think).
Anyway I don't know that the proportion is wrong here, but yeah, that's not the point. Hell, Kirby knew how to draw but completely fudged anatomy all the time - because it looked kinetic and powerful.
No retrospective on Oscar Azocar?
I love how the cape curls around Thor's leg.
They both look legitimately pissed.

Yeah, I just like that cinematic rush that it gives. Who cares if the proportion is wrong? It is just so viscerally exciting.
Loki was a bad ass brooding mofo.

Never got into the Silver Surfer. My favorite covers are Flash 123 and Mystery in Space 90. Check 'em out if you get the chance.
