I would call it an NL lineup, but the NL only has one pitcher.
Can we call up Montero now?
Wow, that is the most awesomely awesome lineup I could ever imagine. The Chessmaster™ has outdone himself this time.
[2] Give Coffee Joe an inch, he'll take a mile ...
*Girardi said that Brian Gordon will be added to the pitching staff tomorrow, but he wasn’t ready to name the 32-year-old righty – who opted out with the Phillies after being with their Triple-A Lehigh Valley team – as the starter in the series finale. He said it will be Gordon or Hector Noesi. He wants to get through tonight’s game first. He also said that he doesn’t just consister Noesi a long man, that he’s willing to use him in the middle innings as well.
I LOVE how often this team is willing to give the PAST a chance ...
GOD FORBID we give someone with anything resembling UPSIDE a chance ...
[4] Come on, man, get with the program. You have to take it r-e-a-l s-l-o-w 'n easy with young upsiders. You don't want to increase the chance of injury or something.
[5] This management team gives me a bad case of the STABBIES ...
[4] I'm with you on that. Noesi deserves a shot.
[6] Yeah. I often alternate between being really bored and fairly infuriated with the decision-making.
Dear Frankie,
The CF is NOT the one receiving the throw at 2nd.
KTHNKSDIE
-s
And I think Joe is at least partly responsible for the Martin situation by overusing him so far this year. I know the BUC sucks, but you can't catch a guy that much and still expect strong performance on both sides. Maybe they should DL Martin so he can have a decent 2nd half and give Jesus his shot (after his eye, etc improves).
Well, I suppose that could have been worse.
Fuck.
Whoa, I miss ten minutes and look what happens.
[11] That could be Ivan Nova's new motto.
Look at that line-up.
Apparently the Chessmaster likes pawns.
[12] =)
I guess that was a good thing. Curtis seems fine.
So maybe Ivan got his bad inning out of the way early.
CRUSHED!
TESH!!!
Fuck yes.
I was just going to say, "We need Curtis on base, otherwise it won't be a 2-run homer."
Really.
Alrighty then.
TESH! ... A-HAH!! ... HE'LL SAVE EVERY ONE OF US!!!
Hm, so maybe against a lefty pitcher, a pitch down and in to Teixeira is a home run pitch, just the way they say most lefty batters like to crush a ball that's down and in?
(Of course, I meant against Teix when he's batting righty.)
Man, I miss Frank Zappa ...
[21] There is no Dana ... only TESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSH.
Served!
SERVED!!!
Eat my dust, cult.
Dear Andruuw Jones,
How about just getting a hit here, huh?
Sincerely,
Me
Yikes ... JUST in there.
Thelarmis would love this half inning. Is he on his tour already?
Oh, damn, so the double steal was worthless. Typical A-Rod.
[27] A walk will do ...
Alright, Nunez,
Oh.
No.
Fuck.
Oh fer...
Well, can't really hold that against Nunez. He swatted it okay.
Wow, Cervelli made a throw TO the bag for once ...
Good boy, Frankie.
Bad boy, Frankie.
Dinner on the porch and it's already 2-2. Yeesh.
NO ... actually ... .253 with no power or patience, SUCKS.
SUCKSSUCKSSUCKSSUCKSSUCKS.
[36] And yet, the pig just sang.
Well, don't think I've seen that before ...
That was a clownish play by Adrian Beltre.
I like Beltre, by the way.
[37] And yet, a note isn't a song ...
[40] What, you don't like hip hop??
Squibbed!
C'mon Pinchy McLoaf!
Well, that one was DRILLED ...
Guess it's going to be one of those games.
Boink.
I guess the second inning was the aberration.
Goddam.
This inning sucks.
[45] I just said the same thing.
Robbie had plenty of time to set and throw.
What, is everyone going to imitate the Andy Samberg video Stumblin?
"A good throw and he's got him"
And therein lies the problem.
Go Canucks!
[52] Yeah, I'm only watching the Yankees with one eye now. And less than half a brain.
Wait, that didn't come out right.
What????
Oh sure, now. Not when the base are loaded in the first...
[53] Without the Jeter countdown and with this bizarre stubbornness to use castoffs and never will bes over potentially exciting players, this is just a boring mid June game.
[55] I suspect they're all waiting for True Yankees™ to emerge on the farm or free agent radar screen...
Jeez, what's with the Coors Light lineup tonight?
What I miss so far, anyone for an update please?
[57] Nova kind of stinks. Teixeira two run bomb. Nunez birthday solo homer.
Kind of ho-hum.
How can a MLB shorstop look so stupid? Oi!
[58] Hearty thanks!
Oh boy. Bergeron.
Man, anyone else lose the Banter for about the last 30 minutes?
[53] My condolences to all your missing body parts. ; )
Young Nova is going to be like is all season. Maddingly inconsistent. In the long run I think he'll be pretty damn good.
[61] My roommate is addicted to Dancing With The Stars... a serious addict, mind you.
God, Tim Thomas is good.
[65] Highway robbery. Shite!
[64] Uh, yeah, different guy.
[64] You need a new roomate! :)
Two-Yah!
[68] You're telling me!!!
[67] I suppose, and the only Tim Thomas I'm aware of knows fugazy basketball when he sees it (but not when he plays it)...
Hockey is chyll, Will. I know the color scheme is not your style.
How's that taste, Kinsler!
Fight Him!
[72] Waiting for one of Popeye Jones' kids to make it, then we'll see...
[74] ?
[76] Torrealba vs. Jones, I assume.
BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAINS!
Jesus, finally.
Wonders never cease.
[78] Heh, no, Jesus is the other guy.
Well that bought us another month of Cetvelli
[78] That'll be the day...
[81] If that's the case, we should probably start calling him Mackie instead of Frankie...
[81] http://tinyurl.com/42g999d
BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAINS!!!
Oh, so maybe that's what he does well.
(Curtis, of course, does everything well.)
[86] I agree, Curtis a great writer, arranger, singer, guitarist..oh wait you mean Granderson and not Mayfield..this cold medicine making me loopier than usual.
WTF is going on in this game?
Damn, I don't think Pena hit any 2 balls that far last year ...
Now I know I must be tripping..Pena hit a tater?!
Is Nunez and Pena HR'ing in the same game a sign of the apocalypse or the rapture?
WTF! Go Pena!
Christ. It's freaking batting practice.
[91] Or just really, really bad pitching.
[91] I, for one, welcome our new OPS underlords...
Psst, Mattpat... did you see this yet?
TESH!
TESH!!!
@#$#@ the rangers.
Clearly Joe Girardi is a genius, BTW
2-0 Bruins!
[97] In progress.
Somebody give that kid some Flintstone's Chewable Morphine ...
Both of our BU-SSs with a HR in the same game.
WHAT DEPTH!!!!!!!!!
[95] Should that be important?
TESH! ... A-HAH!! ... HE'LL SAVE EVERY ONE OF US!!!
.
Damn.
Tim Thomas. Mark Teixeira. Nothing gets past them.
[99] Vancouver desperately needs a goal. Big power play.
[103] Do you want to bet whether Cash is on the phone with his agent as we speak and will deny it right after?
The Bruins score short-handed.
That's the game. 3-0. No way in hell the Canucks can score three goals.
Get that man a bat leash!
[107] As long as he's not being brought into the bullpen, its fine to try him with a minor league deal.
Oh, but wait...
They reviewed it, but it's a goal indeed.
Way to shit the bed, Vancouver. Damn!
[107] The chances of Kazmir pitching a *major* league inning for the Yankees are between slim and none ... and we're not in fucking Texas.
Kazmir is DONE.
Which isn't to say they won't kick the tires, or even sign him to a MiL deal, but his arm (or, more likely, his shoulder) is beyond toast.
[113] Tell you what, nobody around here will be talking about the Red Sox tomorrow.
[110] Heh heh... Joe was not above using AJ in the bullpen at one point...
The Go-Go Yankees!
Wow, it's rather an new experience ... not having a SS that's 1,000 years old ...
There's the Ramiro Pena we know so well ...
[115] lol. Still doesn't ease my pain.
Nunez is awkward.
[114] Seems like if they did kick the tires they'd all fly off in different directions, no?
I believe the bottom three are now 5-10 with 2 HR, 2 BB, 3 RBI and 3 SB
[114] I like toast.
If something is beyond toast, I consider that to be very good.
Wade Boggs is not 59.
DRIVEN!
Meh.
I believe, beyond toast is burned ...
[123] How about instead of "toast" we say "grammatically incorrect"?
Oh boy, it's the mighty Mr. Wade.
I guess this means he's not starting tomorrow night, which is something, at least ...
[127] The pregame chattering heads were all about, "Wade's GOT to pitch tomorrow." He likes to hang low in his stretch that's for sure.
[125] Ohhhhh.
Never mind.
I'm watching Robbie. You owe me a rbi.
Damn straight!. Robbie crushed that!
[130] Debt paid!
DRIVEN!!!
JIMMIEJACK!!!
Wait, I think you owe Rob two RBI now.
[134] He knows I'm good for it.
Wait ... SS are allowed to catch balls hit to their left?!?!?!?
Who knew???
Another good win. Huzzzah!
On a five-bomb night, Ivan's mediocre start was good E-Nova.
Well, Tim Thomas is a shoo-in for the Conn Smythe trophy. He'll be the first US player ever to win it, I believe.
If Chara and Youklis had an ugly contest my head would explode.
[140] He's an articulate motherfucker, isn't he?
