Oh, god, more National League? Enough is enough, already!
[1] Don't you appreciate how historic this series is? And to think that the generations who lived before interleague play never had the opportunity to see this matchup.
Holy wet blankets! I am excited to see Ubaldo, Helton, and Tulowitski.
[3] With MLB.tv I can seen any player any day I want, and I've never been one to get too excited about seeing a given player do his thing against the Yankees in particular. I know I'm in the minority, but I really see little appeal in interleague play.
I'm going to split the difference and say, although I'd really rather NOT have any inter-league play at all, since Seligula hasn't given me any choice, I'm excited to see the Rockies play the Yanks.
GIAMBINOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
[2] Heehee.
It is nice to see our old buddy, #25, I guess. That's kind of nice.
Eff the Rockies. I hate them since they let Boston sweep them in 2007.
Interested to see if Jim Tracy is as bad a manager as Keith Law says he is (Baseball Today Podcast). Lot of manager news recently..still not sure how to judge who is a good one or not.
While we're waiting check out this study over at THT on the value of catcher's pitch framing

Excuse the Jeter bashing, but this is our best lineup.
Don't like Interleague play, although I get Selig's point of drawing more fans.
After all, Baseball is first and foremost about making money.
I hope Giambino gets a nice hand.
a "slight" dip in velocity? going from 95-96 to 91-92 is HUGE!
[11] I know, right? It's amazing how hard it is for former players to speak bluntly about the performance of current ones.
He seems to have the velo tonite ...
Just checked fangraphs ... don't know WTF Flaherty was talking about, Ubaldo's velo is down about 2 mph at max this year, not 4.
Does that mean whatever was hurting Alex isn't hurting so bad anymore?
Agggggghhh!
OH FOR FUCK'S FUCKING SAKE.
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME???
FUCK.
Shit! Talk about blowing a run.
GIAMBINO!!!
BOOM!!!
Sigh.
But good for Jason.
He looks in good shape.
That was some sound off the bat. Damn.
I still luv the Giambino. Wish him well (but no more tonight please).
Gene Michael looks old..
[24]
he still has more range than Jeter
Oh, fucking AJ ...
GIDP! Siddown Tulo!
[26] Uh, well *done* AJ!
(all things considered)
EAT YOUR HEART OUT Weeping!
=)
OldPoll Trivia Question:
Jason posted a line of: .260 .404 .521 .925, 143 OPS+ as a Yankee.
Aside from ARod's 147 OPS+, who was the last player with a better Yankee OPS+ then Giambi?
Oh ... AJ ...
Dammit.
Just get somebody else and bring them in.
AJ has SHIT tonight.
Wild AJ is wild.
YAY???
[31] No... AJ is NOT the correct answer.
#FAIL-J
BINO!
Where the hell is everybody?
After a performance like he had today, Burnett should give himself a pie in the face.
Houston Street.
Ohhh, God, Kay.
Boston's losing to the Pirates.
In other news, the pendulum is apparently swinging the other way with baseball managers as legend/retread Davey Johnson will be announced as the new Washington Nationals manager, replacing retread Jim Riggelman who quit two days before because ooh, the front office didn't want to give him a definitive answer yet on whether they would extend his contract or not beyond this season. Actually, considering the lack of context, it's kind of hard to say whether he was right or wrong in doing so, but it doesn't look like baseball will be breaking in any newbies in the manager's office anytime soon.
And speaking of retreads, Winnipeg is getting their Jets back (in name, if not in the original franchise form), which makes a little more sense than having a hockey team in Atlanta or Phoenix. Or anywhere south of Minnesota, for that matter...
Willie deserves another chance. I still don't see what he did that was so wrong.
