A gift of love to the Banter - from a Sox fan. So some time when those guys up north give you some grief, cut 'em some slack.

Not in playoffs though.

Such a great picture. Ben is the MAN. Is he the family rebel? How did he wind up a Sox fan?

[2] Yes and no. He didn't choose the Red Sox to rebel. He was 2 or 3 and we went to Fenway in 83 or 84 and he got a Boston helmet w/ a B on it and nobody cared to stop him. I was anti-Yankee at the time because of the Reggie thing. The whole family was anti-Steinbrenner.

But then when we were all grown up and getting into the Yanks re-building in 93 and 94, he chose to stick with the Sox. I don't think any of us could have foreseen the drama that was coming, but after some initial pettiness, we have done a passable job of not allowing it to ruin our lives.

[6] yeah, but he was young enough then, 12, to make the move with no questions asked. by that time, there was a hint of rebellion to it. my big mistake was not taking advantage of the boggs signing to encourage a smooth, logical transition.
