Alex Rodriguez had a bad game at the plate yesterday but he is not panicking. Neither is hitting coach, Kevin Long. Josh Thompson has more. I only support dropping him down if that means Melky hits third in an elimination game...

Rodriguez has his work cut out tonight vs Verlander but a couple of base hits will go a long way.
is it bad that I'm not overly nervous about tonight...I honestly don't feel like Detroit has some sort of huge edge.
I mean if you can't feel confident with CC going, then what's the point?
alex is a guess hitter anyway, so he should probably sit on fastball and cheat a bit. if they throw him off-speed stuff just let it pass him.
tough to have a messed up knee and thump and have good timing and swings.
