Congrats to the Rangers but man, I’m pulling for the Brewers now because the Rangers and Cards, well, that’s just too damn much red.
It is sunny but cool in the Bronx: the fall is here. This picture, and the final games of the baseball season, is an attempt to hang on to summer for just a few more moments.
So’s this:

I'll go for the Rangers: AL team, hasn't won before. Then the Brewers. Cardinals last.
Fuck the Rangers.
Fuck Texas.
FUCK Texas.
[2] but...how do you really feel?
would've easily been the best post of the entire offseason except for:
The Red Sox.
maybe if it was "
The Red Sox." ...Is it spring yet?
[3] I understand where you're coming from.
The Red Sox, well the Red Sox are like a wart on a boil on a festering hemorrhoid on the asshole of humanity.
But ... while a wart on a boil on a festering hemorrhoid on the asshole of humanity *IS* a terrible, horrible, disgusting thing that should not be tolerated, it's nothing compared to a malignant, tumorous cancer that devours and kills us from within.
For *that's* what Texas is to the present and future of America, a malignant, rapacious, virulent, cancerous, tumor.
So, FUCK THE RANGERS.
The sage in bloom, is like perfume...
[6] so glad you enjoyed the "marimba" preludes! : )
yeah, keyboard percussion was certainly not the rage for european classical music in the 18th century. wasn't in the centuries that bookend that, either.
speaking of which, the violoncello was not a "top" instrument of the day. and certainly was not a "solo" instrument. there's a lot of mystery shrouding the cello suites and it gets even murkier with the 5-stringed instrument.
bach was such an undeniable genius and sooo far ahead of his time. hell, it took like 200 friggin' years for the cello suites to become popular. of course, now they're widely considered the beautiful music ever composed. i fully agree!!!
btw, in school, i played the entire 3rd suite, all 6 dances. i may put up some old video on the website, not sure...
[6] clever lyrical comment!
[7] [8] I see you avoiding dealing with terrible realities!
;-)
Actually, thinking of Texas, makes me want to punch the Rangers full in the face with the force of *this* song.
[10] Let's try that again.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
WTF is wrong with the HTML code on this site?!?!?!?
Fine.
FUCK IT.
Just cut and paste.
BAH.
[11] [12] That's some ELVIN MOTHERFUCKING JONES for you Nostra.
Plus Sonny Sharrock and Pharoah Sanders (of the East Seaboard Sanders clan).
We now return the rest of you to whatever the lesser fuck you were currently listening to ...
There *is* the other Texas, of course...not just in Austin. The Texas of Doug Sahm, Jerry Jeff Walker, Townes Van Zandt, T-Bone Walker, Willie Nelson, Guy Clark, Joe Ely, Buddy Holly, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Stevie Ray & Jimmie Vaughan, Lightnin' Hopkins, Blind Willie Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Freddie King et al
Everytime I start bad-mouthing Texas, I can't help but be reminded of these guys and the great musical heritage of Texas.
Thelarmis, I knew there was some mystery about one of the suites -- the sixth? About what instrument Bach actually had in mind.
The sixth is my favorite (sorry!). The gigue in third can also turn me into an infant for a few minutes.
[14] But those guys are dead, right?
[16] Nope, not all of 'em. Ely and Clark are still making great music, for example.
[14] And?
It's not the "musical heritage of Texas" that is poisoning school children across the country with the idea that man-made global warming is a figment of scientists who *aren't* paid for by Global Oil Corporation's imaginations.
It's not the "musical heritage of Texas" is poisoning school children across the country with the idea that evolution is just some, random, "unproven" idea ... and the Earth is "arguably" 6,000 years old.
It's not the "musical heritage of Texas" that is convicting and murdering men of color regardless of their likely guilt or innocence ...
The MEN (and WOMEN) who actually MADE the "musical heritage of Texas" deserve better, quite frankly, than being shoved into a pathetic apology to excuse the worst of what, quite honestly, might be most egregiously despicable behavior of ANY state in the current Union.
YMMY, of course ...
[18] My point is that there are allllll kinds of people in Texas (a whole lot of 'em, too). You're lumping everyone in the state together as one monolithic entity. That's convenient, but it's not accurate or honest. This is a baseball team. Rick Perry does not play for the Rangers.
[19] Wow.
Well, THANKS for that.
I had NO idea idea there were different kinds of people in Texas!
Oh, wait ... yes I did, my SISTER has lived in Wichita Falls, TX for the last 4 years!
I've been going to Austin for Flipside since 2004 and it's one of my favorite American cities, with some of my favorite people in it.
But, obviously, my ability to grasp that there are decent folk in Texas while stile managing to grasp that the State of Texas, as a whole, as a political, social entity in the current United States of America is a negative, pernicious lamprey upon the current soul of the state of our union, shouldn't lead me to the following, obvious conclusion, that the excuse "I was just following orders" is no excuse at all ...
Oh, wait ...
[19] And of course, Rick Perry doesn't play for the Rangers, but George W. Bush still sits in the front row behind home plate at all of their home games ....
[20] I don't necessarily disagree with you on most of this stuff, but I still don't understand what that has to do with the Texas Rangers baseball club and their failure or success.
Also, I haven't been snide with you at all, so what's with the attitude?
[21] ..and I'll be honest, the state flag thing weirds me out. I can't think of another state in the Union where people wave the stage flag around. I guess its that whole concept of Texas having been a sovereign nation for 5 minutes?
[22] Attitude?
This is true.
I HATE the "State of Texas".
As I stated above, I think it is literally a nexus of ignorance in the modern world.
A vortex of staggering, vapid, stupidity.
Even though I know dozens of people who live there.
I imagine it's like a cosmpolitan someone in the 1930's and 1940's who knew people who lived in Germany.
You forgive the person, but not the system in which they lived and you can't ever quite forgive them, regardless of how they acted within the structure of the time.
The members of the "Texas Rangers" are not "Texans" as it directly applies to being a "Texas Rangers", nor are their fans, but they *both* are Texas Rangers and they *both* deserve EVERYTHING that Texas Rangers' fans have got coming.
In any case ... LET'S GO BREWERS!!!!!!!!
Dammit.
Why YOU gonna make me HATE you, Fat Elvis???
[24] The end of that rant is not exactly what I meant to express ... but I've been drinking since 1pm ... so ... at least take that into account ...
Uh, oh.
Yup.
DAMN YOU TO HELL, ITALICS!!!
POO-WHOLES!!!!!!
DAMMIT!
ENOUGH, ALREADY!
Hmmmm.
???
Test?
Alright ... carry on.
