Wow, now that's a soup and salad!
I think I'm going to try making the soup. I have a bunch of Jerusalem artichokes -- someone who grows them gave them to me -- and I find them kind of boring just sliced into a salad.

The caesar salad seems wrong though. I'm fine with leaving out the anchovies, but the dressing must include eggs. (The presentation is really tempting though.)

see, i'm totally down with soup and salad. love 'em both. but these pictures don't look delectable to me in the slightest.

[4] you can't expect anything different man :}

the soup sounds interesting. i have seen the sunchokes in the market recently but as the post predicted, just walked past them. i recently signed up for a csa and one of the best things about it is getting veggies i never would have bought at the market or the store and then having to figure out what to do with it.

[3] my man! we'll make excellent partners for our tv show. when do we begin shooting?

[6] I have to write a treatment first. Then we have to write a script and budget, get financial backing for it (pitch it to some food-oriented channels) and shoot a pilot. I'm thinking springtime would be good.

[7] Or we could grab a camera, go to some places and have someone shoot us talking about and reacting to the stuff we encounter. Or next time you come up I can get some studio time at the cable access studio and shoot a half-hour pilot there. Neither will be as glossy as the first option, but it will get done sooner.

[1] Agreed on the eggs. Don't they have some stoopid law about raw eggs in Joisey? The funny thing is people eat tons of raw eggs in Japan, they are part of many different dishes, but it's god damn near impossible to get a Ceasar salad that isn't covered with some ranch dressing-like concoction. (not including the expenso jernts, of course).

Man that stuff looks really good. I gotta get home, my supper's waitin' for me...since last night when I didn't make it back 'til 1:30.

[9] Too many salmonella outbreaks will make a populace a tad skittish, methinks. Fortunately for you (if you ever come back to visit, that is), the laws were revised after everyone in Joisey did the shimmy shimmy ya at the state capitol...
