Swish is back as Kuroda looks to give the Yanks another strong performance.
Derek Jeter SS
Curtis Granderson CF
Alex Rodriguez DH
Robinson Cano 2B
Mark Teixeira 1B
Raul Ibanez LF
Nick Swisher RF
Eric Chavez 3B
Russell Martin C
Never mind counting: Let’s Go Yank-ees!
As well as the Yankees are playing--and it has been fun watching them during this stretch--I wonder when they are going to make a move to improve the outfield situation. Gardner is still weeks away (at the least) and Ibanez' average has been plummeting. I keep hearing about Ronnier Mustelier at Scranton, who has been putting up big numbers as an outfielder/second baseman. Could he be the left fielder of the immediate future? I'd be curious to hear the thoughts of others.
Like the doodah man...
Welcome back, Swish. Man did that double have a solid CRACK!
Now that was SWISHALICIOUS!
Evening, Team!
Man, that was beautiful.
Chavez looked like Mattingly there.
[1] I have no idea but it would make sense to bring him up now, while the team is hot, if they're to do it at all. Much less pressure on him than if they wait til they start scuffling.
Exciting triple. Rats!
You're doing fine H. Kuroda
H. Kuroda, OK K-U-R-O-D-A
H. KurOOOOOOOOda!
Man, Alex's swing is so long.
Whoosh!
Is it just destiny, destiny?
Or is it just a game in my mind, Kuroda?
[9] M M M My Kuroda!
[12] [11] Waaaaay behind me, dude!
Well that's not good.
Someone contribute a song about Andrelton. It's a challenge.
That was a break. Did Chipper slow up as he approached home?
Oh, he slud.
Nice!
Evening does.
[19] Evening, buck.
Bourne Freeman
as Freeman the wind blows...
What is this tie game? Why aren't the Yankees beating that awful team from the South?
Oops, sorry..Grandma OK Jazz hijacked my brain for a minute. That's her regular commentary while games are on.
So what I miss besides Hiroki "The Knack" Kuroda jokes?
2 Out RISP?
Possible?
?
Good to see Nick back.
Damn.
Huff and puff is too slow.
DAMN!!!!!!!!!!
Reix runs like an old Moose.
Teix...
[23] 2 out RISP hits are obviously overrated.
Kenny's funny: "The problem is, eventually you're going to have to pitch to somebody."
Weird.
Good start Curtis.
Time for some five o'clock lightning!
Little bingo!
Here we go...
Motherfucker!
Damn.
Nothing? Really?
Well, that wasn't exactly what I had in mind.
sigh
Michael Kay: "So the Yankees once again have had their opportunities and have failed to make the most of them."
As if they haven't won ten games in a row.
Nice catch, Curtis.
That's right, we've failed yet to homer, which means we're not eligible to win this game.
Ouch. That hurts.
Yes.
Oh, for fuck's sake!
Which only leaves the ninth.
Jeter single to RF, Granderson tater to walk-off. Who's with me?
[48] I'm on board.
[48] If you're going to twist my arm...
[48] Beautiful.
Jeter's looking a bit overmatched.
Damn, that first pitch slider wasn't fair.
Two in a row.
Fuck.
Oooof.
Just like that.
Hmm.
Oh well.
Well it was fun while it lasted.
Can't win 'em all.
It's hard to have a bad loss after winning ten straight, but when you have two guys thrown out at the plate and lose by one... disappointing.
