I had commented last week that if the Angels find some sucker to take on Vernon Wells, they will have had a very good Hot Stove. I just hope the sucker doesn't turn out to be Cashman. Even if the Angels eat most of the salary, Wells is signed for 2 more years.
I know Cashman likes players who were all-stars 10 years or more ago (Ichiro, Chavez, Andruw Jones), but please take Wells off the shopping list.
The Jays are taking advantage that the Yanks are peeny pinching for 2 years, The Red Sox are rebuilding, Tampa is cost-cutting as usual, and Baltimore never does much (Hiring Showalter was a coup though). The Blue Jays are for real and could be a dominant club again. I just hope they can draw more fans. Oh! and come in 2nd to the Yanks of course.
Dickey is officially a Blue Jay. Does that make them the favorite to win the Division? He may have won the Cy Young award, but his career stats are not very impressive.
4) They were snake bitten by injuries last year. They have a good squad and could leap frog Tampa and the O's at least.
I saw Nick Swisher is getting the red carpet treatment in Cleveland. No offense, but I have been to Cleveland and Nick should have excepted the qualifying offer with the Yanks.

[2] The article was worth the moment if only for reading "Turk Wendell" and "dog poo" in the same sentence.

Money isn't everything Nick.
