Don’t Cha Know?

Last weekend had letdown written all over it. And when the Yanks lost a close one on Friday night, you had to wonder. But they collected themselves, won both games over the weekend to take the series and head out of town on a good note.

Tonight they start a two-game series in the nation’s capital and then they are in K.C. and Texas where the bbq is grand.

Oh, and our old pal Robbie Cano is in the news today for the wrong reason. Oy and veh.

Clapping and Cheering

Goodness, that felt good. Comeback against the Sox, big night for Gardner, tough at bats from Neil Walker and Stanton and the kids, Andujar and Torres, a loud home run from Aaron Judge against Kimbrel. The only blip was some middle-reliever ineptitude, but the Yanks are hot, and so that outplayed their mistakes and won again.

Tonight, C.C. goes for the gravy. But even if the Yanks lose, they’ve won the series and that’s a beautiful thing.

Clear, crisp, cool spring night in the Bronx.

Back at it.

Never mind the pollen:

How’ve You Been?

The Sox and Yanks meet up for three at the Stadium sporting the top two records in baseball, respectively. After their little dust-up at Fenway, the media has pounced all over “The Return of the Rivalry” storyline, which is to be expected, I get it. Truth is, these are both mostly amiable teams, and they are both really good.

Luis is on the hill tonight and while he’s due for a dud here’s hoping it ain’t tonight.

Never mind the hype:

The First Weekend in May

We could get used to this. Winning. You know, it’s better ’n losing.

Yanks secured another series win with victories on Friday night and yesterday afternoon—with the kids leading the way.

Not to be greedy, but what the hell, how about another “W” today, fellas?

Back to the Boogie Down

Now, that was a road trip to remember, 6-1 against the Angels and Astros.

Yanks are back at the Stadium—you boo birds ready for Stanton?—to face more toughness, the Indians and then the Red Sox.

Hey, Now

On Monday night, Houston reliever Ken Giles let out a jacked-up Joba-like yell when he recorded the final out of the game. Last night, he was on the hill again, tasked with keeping the game scoreless after Just Verlander shut the Yankees out for the first eight innings. But Giles gave up a two-strike base hit to Aaron Judge—who, like all the Yankee hitters were happy to see anyone but Verlander, no doubt—and a double in the gap to Didi Gregorious. Giancarlo Stanton is such horseshit right now the Astros didn’t intentionally walk him as Giles got him fishing at sliders for the first out. It was up to Gary Sanchez to exact revenge for the Yanks and he did just as much, launching a three-run home run. This time, when Giles left the mound he punched himself in the head. Son of Rocker. Jacked when he’s up, jacked when he’s down.

Yanks steal a win.

Tonight, gives our man Luis vs. that Dallas Keuchel, who always seems to murder the Yanks. Mebbe tonight it will be different.

Never mind the bbq:

The Yankees’ 9-game winning streak came to an end last night as they lost a close one in Houston. And tonight they’ve got Verlander to deal with.

Brick by Brick

Man, the Yanks are on a roll. Swept the Halos in a very Yankee-friendly Angels ballpark over the weekend. Now they are in Houston for four big games against the Astros.

Nice to see Sonny Gray act more like Coney less like Jeff Weaver.

Never mind success going to your head:

Westward Ha!

Yanks polished off the Twinkies and are now out in Anaheim to face the Angels over the weekend.

Houston next. Two tough teams. Let’s see how our boys do.

Never mind the jet lag:

Bang, Zoom

There are gonna be nights like these for the Yanks this year.

Hassan-Chop.

More tonight with the Big Fella, CC on the hill.

Never mind the nuthin’:

Better

Luis Severino, man that is our Ace.

More kids, more runs, another win. And a series win … Better.

Now, four against the Twins before the Yanks head out west. And this evening they celebrate the 20th anniversary of Boomer’s perfecto. Ah, memories.

Cold Chillin’

Ah, a good close win. Good at bats for Stanton, nice performance from Betances, dominant one from Chapman.

Still cold as hell out here and we are still looking for Sonny Gray to show up. Speaking of chilly, Holy Crud but the Red Sox are putting the rest of the division on ice. They are now 16-2 for crying out loud. Good start is one thing but this is just ridiculous.

Step by Step

Stupid Blue Jays. Ugh, so annoying. C’mon, Yanks, get your asses in gear. And enough with these Mo Mo’s booing Stanton, I hope he starts coming out of it—(the boo birds are grumbling when the guy gets 2 strikes on him, it’s a terrible downer).

And it is still really cold. Not cool. Cold.

Never mind the freeze:

Yanks lineup:

  • Gardner LF
  • Judge RF
  • Stanton DH
  • Gregorius SS
  • Sanchez C
  • Hicks CF
  • Austin 1B
  • Andújar 3B
  • Torreyes 2B

Starting – Severino

(Maybe Judge and Didi can switch places for a while, that seemed to work a whole lot last year, ijs…)

… And for My Next Trick …

Been waiting for Sonny Gray to have a truly great outing as a Yankee. Tonight would be a good night for it, wouldn’t ya say?

The Red Sox beat the Yanks about the face and neck and every other place last night to the tune of 14-1. It was a beating—thought Aaron Judge had a good night and Giancarlo Stanton picked up a couple of hits. That was about the only good news in an otherwise forgettable affair for the visitors.

Tonight, they’ll have to deal with a seemingly rejuvenated David Price. But that’s okay, they can hang.

Never mind the cold April start:

Not Quite There Yet

Um, couple of rough loses in a row. Not to mention more injuries!

April, the cruelest month.

More this afternoon. Never mind the DL:

Take that boo birds.

Yanks go boom, beat up the Rays, 7-2.

The O’s in town for a long weekend series.
